About Bob Pauken

Artist and geologist --- Bob is a person whose life has always been centered in the out-of-doors and nature.   He studied science at Bolling Green University and the University of Missouri, where he completed a bachelors and masters in the biological sciences,  and a PhD in geology.

He subsequently spent 35 years as a geologist, working at Mobil Oil, where his profession allowed him the opportunity to expand his knowledge of the natural realm in environs that spanned the globe.  During that time he developed an appreciation for art by observing the creativity of his mother, who was an accomplished oil and watercolor artist in the Toledo, Ohio area.

After retiring from Mobil he decided to try his hand at painting, envisioning this as a marvelous way to express his love of nature and appreciation for his friends.

Today Bob lives south of Dallas, Texas, with his wife, Maria, and spends much of the summer in Creede, Colorado.  He is presently studying art under Ava Freeman and has attended workshops by such notable artists as Stephen Quiller , Tom Lynch, and Cecy Turner.

Bob hopes that in viewing his art you will experience some of his appreciation of nature.
